Low Wray is located on the western shore of Windermere. The site makes a great base for enjoying a wide range of outdoor activities. There are many places around for gentle walks and good off-road biking that you can get to from the campsite. There are also quiet country lanes that are great for cycle tourers.

The site is a great base for those who like to participate in watersports. You can enjoy wind surfing, canoeing and dinghy sailing with on-site access for launching.

Low Wray wants to remind everyone that in order to have an enjoyable stay at the site that certain restrictions apply. They have campsite rules that they expect all of their campers to adhere to.

They do not allow groups of more than 4 adults. There is a 2 night minimum stay during Bank Holiday weekends.

The site does not allow access to powered crafts either by road or water.

Within a 2 mile radius of the site there are 2 excellent Lakeland pubs that serve great pub food. Just a few minutes' drive from the site are Ambleside and Hawkshead. Either a short drive away or an excellent walk away are Hill Top and the Beatrix Potter Gallery. The park is near to all the central Lakes attractions including several NT Houses and Gardens.
