Riverside Caravan Park
The Marshall family has owned and managed Riverside Caravan Park since the 1960's. The park is a sheltered and level site that straddles the banks of the River Wenning. The site is truly superb and is screened by trees and natural hillsides. There are great walks along the riverbank and in the surrounding countryside. There are peaks to scale for more adventurous walkers, Ingleborough, Whernside and Peny-y-Ghent.
Riverside Caravan Park provides facilities for holiday home owners, touring caravans and motor homes.
HOLIDAY HOMES are all privately owned. Sub-letting is not allowed and none of the homes are available for hire. The piitches have concrete bases and come with full services.
SEASONAL TOURING PITCHES
The site offers spacious gravel pitches that are attractively laid out. The season is 10 months from 1st March until 2nd January every year. Each pitch has all 4 services: water, sewer point, 16 amp electrical hook-ups and a TV point.
TOURING CARAVANS, MOTORHOMES
The site offers level grass pitches with plenty of open space for children to play. These pitches are well drained. The pitches are clearly marked out and a generous in size. They come with electric and TV hook-up points. You can also choose from 12 hard standing pitches that include water, sewer point, 10 amp electrical hook-ups and a TV point. Facilities include an amenity building that features underfloor heating and includes toilets, showers, wash basins, a utility room, kitchen with worktops, kettle, toaster, microwave and a freezer. There is also a disabled and family room, a chemical toilet disposal point and a dump station for motor homes.
ACTIVITIES
They feature an outdoor play area that is laid out on the terraces opposite the reception yet still within sight of the touring area. You can sail small dinghies with your children in the river and just mess around in the water. They have an indoor family games room that features pool tables, table tennis and games machines.
AMENITIES
Within comfortable walking distance of the site are town shops and pubs. There is no need for a shop or club on the park. There are a wide range of traditional shops to cater for all of your needs in town.
Bentham has been a busy hub of market town life for centuries and its history is well recorded. The town has a population of over 4,000. It has become a thriving centre for the local community and for tourists alike. They have all the conveniences of modern amenities and transport links.
The town of High Bentham used to be in the West Riding and is now in North Yorkshire. The postal address has always been 'Lancaster'. The nearest towns are in Cumbria and North Yorkshire. The diversity of scenery in High Bentham makes it very fortunate. You can see the River Wenning, which is a tributary of the River Lune, meander pleasantly from the South of Clapham alongside both High and Low Bentham. You can enjoy walks from Riverside Caravan Park, on either bank, through rich meadow and pastureland. This gives the site a feeling of serenity and peace that is so rare in these difficult days.
A 30 minute climb can take you to the moor feel gate and to Big Stone which features stunning views of moors and mountains that extend from the Forest of Bowland to the far Lakeland hills. It is beautiful to watch the glorious vision of the summer sun set over Morecambe Bay. Come and visit Riverside Caravan Park and experience the true beauty of the Yorkshire Moors.
