Torvaig Caravan & Camping Site

Located just a 15 minute walk from Portree, Torvaig Caravan and Camping is a pleasant 3 acre site. They are set on Staffin Road heading north from Portree, which is the main town of Skye with views of Cuillins. Torvaig Caravan and Camping is on a hill and features breathtaking views.

The town of Portree was once a busy port but now it is currently busy with tourists. Portree is full of guests houses, hotels, souvenir shops, eating places, banks, a filling station, an arts centre, a swimming pool, a hair dressing salon, a chemist and supermarkets. If you need anything during your stay at Torvaig Caravan and Camping you will probably find it there. There is a little shop at the back of the main square on the road to the swimming pool that sells health foods.

The town's post office is located within a shop overlooking the harbour where you can buy music CDs and tapes.

There are various boat trips that operate from Portree harbour in the summer. You can look around the pier for details.

Skye is one of the largest and best known Scottish islands. It is particularly famous for its mountain scenery. A lot of people come to Skye to climb or walk in the Cuillin and the Quiraing. The population of Skye can expanded significantly since the early 1990s and now there are over 9,000 people living on the island.

Because the island is very popular tourists you will find many craft shops and cottage museums. There is a swimming pool in Portree, golf at Sconser and Skeabost and pony trekking as well. There are water sports available on the island such as diving, canoeing, wind surfing and yachting. The island is also perfect for fishing and bird watching. The Talisker Distillery at Carbost has some excellent whiskey for those looking to try the local stock.

Guests will find a multi-media exhibition about the history of Skye that has commentary available in 8 languages. There are regular concerts and arts events taking place in the theatre where films are also screened. There are also bird exhibitions with nest live-cams.
