The site's holiday home pitches are set in the most amazing grounds available in the North-east of England. The touring caravan and camping site enjoys magnificent views of the castle.

Witton Castle Country Park has spread as an ideal base for an extended visit to Northumbria and its many wonderful attractions.

Just short drive away there are countless beauty spots and places of interest. This includes magnificent stretches of coastline and many stately homes.

Inside the castle there is a family bar that serves bar meals and Sunday lunch. It also regularly hosts entertainment throughout the season for both holiday home owners and visitors.

Witton Castle Country Park has a takeaway cafeteria during the summer season as well as gift and grocery shops and games and TV rooms.

The grounds are popular for large-scale outdoor events such as traction-engine rallies, country sports, fairs, gymkhanas, barbecues and have even been used for mock Civil War battles.

TOURERS AND MOTORHOMES

Witton Castle Country Park is restricting the number of touring caravans so that you will have more privacy and space than just about any other site in the North East. Witton Castle Country Park does not permit the use of tents.

Their nightly rate includes electric hook-ups, water and a television point access. They only charge per tourer, not per person. The site does not charge for pets or awnings. They feature free Wi-Fi in the Castle Bar. You will have full use of the shower and toilet facilities, nature trails and outdoor facilities. Fishing is available at an extra cost.

HOLIDAY HOMES FOR HIRE

The site features 5 Luxury Holiday Homes that are all less than 1 year old for hire. They are all fully furnished and are ideal for self-catering holidays. That can sleep up to 8 people. They offer 2 bedroom 6 berth models and 3 bedroom 8 berth models that have all of the features that you would expect from a holiday home. The home will be made ready for your arrival with all of the beds made. If it is on the cool side the staff will make sure the heating is turned on for you. You must remember to bring your own towels.

HOLIDAY HOMES FOR SALE

Witton Castle Country Park has an excellent range of new and pre owned holiday homes for sale. Many of them are fully double glazed and have central heating so that you can take advantage of the parks' extended 51 week holiday season. They deal with all of the major manufacturers so if you see a holiday home you like the site can procure it for you. Each of the pre owned Luxury Holiday Homes were privately owned, not rented or sub let, and are therefore in excellent condition.

? The Beamish Open Air Museum is nearby. It tells the story of life in North East England in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times. It stands in 300 acres of beautiful County Durham countryside.

? Killhope Lead Mine is located in the centre of the North Pennines in the Durham Dale. It is a real adventure. You can tour the mine, walk in the woodland, visit the exhibitions and see the wildlife.

Witton Castle Country Park is located near Witton-Le-Wear, around 5 miles from Bishop Auckland in County Durham. We're just one mile from the A68, north of Toft Hill village.
