Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park on the Isle of Wight is a picturesque family-run holiday park that was originally part of the grounds of a historic house. The site lies in 14 acres of peaceful unspoilt countryside. It makes a perfect retreat for the entire family. It is located only a few minutes by car to the stunning beaches of Shanklin, Sandown and Ventnor.

The site has excellent amenities, abundant wildlife and plenty of birds for bird watchers. You can also go horse riding or golfing. It is a superb base for walkers and cyclists as you can access walkways within minutes from the site.

ON-SITE FACILITIES

Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Parkhas an on-site shop that is open from April to October. It provides a selection of basic provisions. During the height of the season they bake fresh bread, croissants and pastries. They have a selection of camping equipment, gifts and toys available. They also offer a freezer pack facility.

They also feature an on-site cafe that serves hot food and provides a takeaway service. Their bar and family entertainment room with its adjoining games room overlooks the swimming pool. It provides nightly family entertainment during Spring Bank Holiday week and from mid July until the end of August.

Their laundrette has coin operated washing machines, dryers and irons.

Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park also feature a large sheltered outdoor heated swimming pool and a small toddler's pool. They are available from Spring Bank Holiday week until early in September. They hold swimming galas and scuba diving lesions during peak season. They also feature a children's play area and crazy golf activities.

There are no park facilities available before April or after October.

STATIC CARAVANS

Appuldurcombe Gardens Holiday Park was originally part of the grounds of the nearby historic Appuldurcombe house. "Capability Brown� designed the old walled orchard that now contains 40 static caravans and the Orchard Lodge. It is in well tended grounds in a traffic-free area.

There is a choice of 4 or 6 berth caravans. They can vary from luxurious to modest types in order to cater to everyone's requirements. Each is complete with toilets, showers, fridges, freezers, gas or electric heaters, toasters, cookers with grills and colour TVs. Some feature microwaves and some have teletext, DVD players or video players depending upon the grade of the caravan.

ORCHARD LODGE

Orchard Lodge is situated within the old walled orchard. It consists of one double and one twin bedroom and is centrally heated. It is fully inclusive. The bathroom includes a basin, toilet, walk-in shower and grab rail. The lounge has a colour TV. The dining area and kitchen have a spacious open plan design for easy access. The kitchen includes an electric cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster and kettle. All utensils and crockery are provided. There are level pathways surrounding the lodge for easy access.

FOLLY EAST AND FOLLY WEST APARTMENTS

Each apartment is very light and spacious. They are centrally heated and fully inclusive. They are conveniently situated above the bar and entertainment area. Each is suitable for up to 6 people and has one double, one twin and one bunk-bedroom. The bathroom includes a full size bath with mixer shower taps, a basin and toilet. The kitchen is a full-sized modern one with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle. All utensils and crockery are provided. Each has a spacious lounge with colour TV and sofa bed. The dining area is situated in the lounge of Folly East and in the kitchen of Folly West.

TOURING AND CAMPING

The camping field is set within grassland. The area also features a small babbling meandering stream that runs alongside the area. It connects to a meadow with peaceful seating and a pond full of natural planting and wildlife. Each pitch is easily marked and is easily accessible by hard road access. The Front Orchard has a peaceful area set aside for walkers and hikers situated within mature fruit trees.
