Milton of Fonab Caravan Park is located on the outskirts of Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire, which has long had the reputation as one of the finest holiday resorts in Scotland. Almost the exact centre of the country, Pitlochry makes not only an ideal base for a touring holiday but is itself easy to reach, either by road or rail.
Our caravan park, under the personal supervision of the Stewart family, lies on the banks of the River Tummel, half a mile South of the town. At once you are in the heart of the country and yet within less than ten minutes walking distance of the town centre. From your caravan window you have a magnificent open view of the Tummel Valley and the surrounding hills. The site itself is level, well-drained and with tarmac roads all round.
CARAVAN HOLIDAY HOMES FOR HIRE
We have a total of 34 static vans available for hire. All are modern, six berth proprietary models measuring to 38 feet long by 12 feet wide. Our vans are all well spaced out around the perimeter of the park, with space provided alongside each van for car parking.
TOURING CARAVANS, MOTORHOMES AND TENTS
We have 170 pitches available for touring vans (mobile caravans) and motorhomes. Shower and washroom facilities are available for the use of all our guests.
We have limited spaces for small tents only on a first come first served basis.
OUT AND ABOUT
The town itself has many attractions which are all within easy walking distance of our site - Pitlochry Hydro-Electric Dam and fish ladder, the famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre on the banks of the River Tummel and, a few miles upstream, the Pass of Killiecrankie.
Trout and salmon fishing, boating on Loch Faskally, sailing on Loch Tummel, tennis, bowling, golfing, putting, hillwalking and pony trekking are all available to the visitor who enjoys the great outdoors.
Day trips can be made to Inverness to the North, Oban and Fort William to the West, Braemar and Royal Deeside to the North-East, and the Trossachs and Loch Katrine to the South-West.
Afternoon outings to Braemar, Balmoral and the magnificent Queens View over Loch Tummel, Loch Rannoch and the beautiful Glen Lyon - Scotland's longest Glen. Blarigowrie, Dunkeld and the Hermitage, and Kenmore and Aberfeldy also make excellent trips. Perhaps most spectacular is Blair Castle, 7 miles North of Pitlochry. Bruar Falls and the House of Bruar are also close to this historic site.
