Tebay Services Caravan Site
Located near Tebay in the Cumbrian countryside, Tebay Services Caravan Site is surrounded by woodland and makes a great place for a quiet holiday. Its location makes it ideal for a break on a long journey to or from Scotland. It also makes a great base for exploring the nearby Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Hadrian’s Wall. It is easily accessible from the M6, next to the popular Tebay Services.
Tebay Services Caravan Site’s facilities include: 80 level pitches that are all hard standing and are suitable for American RVs and Fifth Wheels. They advise that you book in advance. Features include electric hook-up points, laundry facilities, excellent washrooms and flexible access for late arrivals.

Just a 5 minutes’ walk from the caravan site will take you to the award winning Tebay Services Farmshop, Kitchen and Butchery. You can also visit the Tebay Services Hotel which offers a comfortable lounge, open fire and homemade meals in their lounge and restaurant; using locally sourced ingredients where possible.
The caravan site is located just 1 mile north of J38 on the M6 near Tebay. You can reach it through Tebay Services from both north and southbound carriageways.
There are plenty of great local tourist attractions for both adults and children alike.
You will find a wide array of walks in the Lake District that are great for walkers of all abilities. Alfred Wainwright’s first walk, Orrest Head in Windermere, features magnificent views. You can take advantage of the area’s ‘miles without stiles’ scheme that offers 39 laid back routes that are good for walkers of all abilities.
The Lakes are also excellent for cyclists. They feature mountain bike trails, bridleways, country lanes and cycle ways. Mountain bike trails that will keep the whole family entertained include Whinlatter Forest and Grizedale Forest. The amazing cycle trails in the Kentmere Valley offer more leisurely routes.
The Lakes are of course the area’s biggest attraction and you can enjoy them by going out on the water yourself. There are plenty of opportunities to go cruising, sailing, kayaking and canoeing.
Why not use the Brockhole Centre in Windermere to start planning your activities. They have all the information that you need on all the area’s best attractions and also feature a great adventure playground and water sports that will entertain your children.
Lake District Wildlife Park and the Lakes Aquarium have a variety of jungle and sea life for animal lovers to see.
You can visit the World of Beatrix Potter and see her characters come to life before your eyes. There you will also find an excellent coffee shop and a gift shop. This makes a great trip for rainy days.
History lovers can visit the Ruskin Museum in Coniston or the Lakeland Motor Museum near Newby Bridge for an excellent day trip.
A rainy day? The Rheged Centre near Penrith just off J40 of the M6 is just 20 minutes North of Tebay Services Caravan Site and well worth a visit. 10 shops, 3 cafes and a gallery allow them to showcase the best Cumbria has to offer. Their cinema shows daily films plus a full live-streaming programme of opera, ballet and theatre.
