Netherbeck Holiday Park

Netherbeck Holiday Park is located just on the edge of the historic market town of Carnforth. It’s the kind of place where you make friends for life. The park has been independently assessed and has been rated 5 Stars. Netherbeck is kept immaculately clean. The park just has room for 45 homes and each one is lovingly cared for and privately owned.

The park is open from the 1st of March until the 10th of January. Facilities include a laundrette, private parking beside each van, a public telephone and a place to fish nearby.

Netherbeck Holiday Park is within easy reach of lovely villages as well as the pretty North Lancashire and South Cumbria countryside. It is the perfect place for your very own escape to the country.

The site’s guests are welcome to use their luxurious leisure facilities at their Silverdale site, but charge apply if you do this. They have a swimming pool complex, gym, bar and restaurant. Just 2 miles down the road you can visit Bay View’s Bar and Restaurant to get a meal.

THE LOCAL AREA

• CARNFORTH is famous for having the station where Brief Encounter was filmed during World War 2. Now there is an interesting visitor centre. They have also restored the café where you can get a nice cup of tea. They are also home to the North West’s biggest second hand book shop. They also feature a branch of the award winning Booth’s supermarkets, various pubs, cafés and takeaway shops.

• MORECAMBE is a seaside town located 5 miles away. It is currently undergoing a period of regeneration. The town has new shops, restaurants and coffee bars replaced the old jaded arcades. The Midland Hotel has been lovingly restored and updated. There is art interwoven in every step of the town. You can sit on their golden sands there and see spectacular views across the bay to the Lakes Mountains.

• LANCASTER is a historic town with 2 universities. It is a city of learning and a city of stories. There the past lives comfortably with the present. The city’s splendid stone facades hearken back to its heyday as a Georgian port. They feature both quirky independent shops and well known stores. There are museums and monuments that can be enjoyed by old and young. Their bars and restaurants are bustling with locals.

• Miles and miles around the site is rolling countryside that is mixed with sleepy villages, lovely ports and quiet bays.

• SILVERDALE is Britain’s smallest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The city features local shops, a butcher, baker and greengrocer. Each store stocks fresh produce that is grown locally.

Jenny Brown’s Point by the sea has panoramic views across the bay. Nearby Leighton Moss, which is run by the RSPB, is a haven to special birds. You can see breeding bitterns and bearded tits as well as deer and butterflies. You can walk through the trees at Woodwell and end up at the Wolfhouse Gallery which has contemporary and traditional arts, crafts, gifts, jewellery and tearooms with homemade cakes.

Silverdale has 2 friendly pubs in the evening, The Woodlands and The Silverdale Hotel as well as a good Italian restaurant.

• ARNSIDE is located on a rocky peninsula that dominated by the 522ft Arnside Knott. In the past small coasters, steamers and yachts landed in Arnside. Arnside lost all marine ties when the estuary began to slit up.

Now visitors love strolling through the bustling seaside village of Arnside. You can catch the remarkable sight of the tide as it sweeps up the bay. You can also choose to enjoy a supper of fish and chips on the beach and watch the salmon leap as the sun sets.

• KENDAL is known as the 'Gateway to the Lakes’ and is a mere 15 miles away. It provides good shopping facilities which include a market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They have a theatre and cinema, a 13th Century parish church, Abbot Hall Art Gallery and a museum that offers a glimpse of Lakeland life throughout the ages. They also have lots of mint cake.

• THE LAKE DISTRICT has beautiful landscapes of the Lakes and is a favourite among walkers. The forests, fells and waterways are the perfect setting for a variety of sporting activities. You can visit historic villages and famous locations such as the former homes of Beatrix Potter, John Ruskin and the poet Wordsworth.

DIRECTIONS:

Exit the M6 at junction 35 and take the A601 for Carnforth.

In 1 mile turn left at the roundabout (J35a) for Carnforth (Truckhaven on the left, Pine Lake on the right).

In 1 mile you will come to some traffic lights, turn left into Market Street.

Take the first left onto North Road and follow this road for approximately half a mile,on the right you will see the sign for Netherbeck Holiday Park.
