Cwm Cadnant Valley

Set in the small valley of the River Cadnant, Cwm Cadnant Valley is a site that caters for tourers. The River Cadnant is a gentle running stream that once fed the moat of the magnificent Caernarfon Castle that stands nearby. The site is a quiet haven that lies within a ten minutes' walk of Caernarfon town centre.

The site extends approximately 4½ acres set amongst matures trees. Cwm Cadnant Valley has a total of 35 pitches for tourers that are set out on terracing. There are 5 hard standing pitches and a majority of them have electrical hook-ups. The site's 24 tent pitches are set out on both sides of the stream. There is an area of 9 pitches at the top of the site reserved for backpackers and cyclists.

Cwm Cadnant Valley's well-equipped site features a children's play area, launderette, sheltered dishwashing facilities and a barbecue area. The toilet blocks contain hair dryers, showers, shaver points and plenty of hot water. There is also a "family room and disabled facilities.

In the reception area guests can find a full range of tourist information about the local area. Guests can purchase Calor Gas and Camping Gaz in the reception. They can usually source BP Gas light with 24 hours. The site also offers an ice-pack freezing service. There is a payphone in the reception area.

The security barrier is closed between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. for the benefit of all the visitors. Guests can make arrangements for early departures for whatever reason. The owners reside on the site and are available at all times for visitor's security.

Just 200 metres away from the site there is a small supermarket and off-licence that opens early and closes late every day. Within a 10 minutes' walk from the site there are 2 major supermarkets, Morrisons to the north and Tescos to the south. The towns also feature the usual facilities such as restaurants, pubs, takeaways, banks and a post office.

Approximately 1km along the Bethel Road visitors can find the Arfon Leisure Centre. There they can enjoy a sports hall, swimming pools, a fitness room, squash and both indoor and outdoor tennis. There is equipment available for hire there. You can also purchase hot and cold refreshments at the centre.

In the Caernarfon area visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery, an abundance of history and culture, unspoilt beaches, sporting facilities, walking, mountains, fishing and pony trekking. This makes Cwm Cadnant Valley Caravan and Camping Park a great base for a number of activities. It is ideally situated between Anglesey and the stunning scenery of Snowdonia.
