Fallow Fields Camping is on Selson Farm, which sits in a gentle valley on the eastern edge of the North Downs in Kent. You’re surrounded by apple, pear and cherry orchards, there’s also asparagus fields a plenty.

The camping field itself is a good 4 acres, completely flat, and lined with trees for shelter. You can bring your own tent, or hire one of ten furnished bell tents. Or if you fancy something a bit different, there's also retro campervans available to hire.

The bell tents are a great way to enjoy the Fallow Fields Feeling with an extra bit of luxury. Each bell is a good size (5m x 5m), fully carpeted and decorated with fairy lights and bunting and sleeps up to four people and includes:

• Comfy double bed and hot water bottles, already made up for you

• Two single sofas that double up as beds (bedding also included)

• Bedside tables, a useful larger table and a camping light

Please note that Fallow Fields is for tents and camper vans. Caravans and motorhomes are not accepted.

• A handpicked site in a great location with more than enough room for everyone

• Campfires to cook on by day or keep warm by night

• A retreat area to escape, have a cup of coffee, play games

• A shop stocked with local produce & camp basics

• Local food vans on Friday and Saturdays to give you a break from cooking

• Those little extras that make a big difference; ice block freezing, fire pit hire and firewood

OUT AND ABOUT

Sandwich is full of character with streets lined with Tudor black and white timber buildings. The Guildhall and Town Wall, The Butts, the Ropewalk, Millwall, the Bulwarks, Fishergate, the Barbican and Toll Bridge over the River Stour are all redolent of its historical wealth and importance. Perfect for exploring, whatever the weather.

Canterbury is full of history and heritage, stunning architecture and world famous buildings such as the breathtaking cathedral. The city also has a great range of high street and specialist stores.

Deal Castle is one the finest artillery castles in England, and among the earliest and most elaborate of a chain of coastal forts. You can easily spend a day exploring the castle, its grounds and the surrounding area.

Dover Castle has guarded our shores from invasion for 20 centuries. Explore the darkly atmospheric Secret Wartime Tunnels, now with a vivid recreation of the Dunkirk evacuation, complete with dramatic projections of swooping Spitfires and real film footage.
