Grange Farm Campsite
Grange Farm Campsite is a very quiet site set on a small working farm with lovely countryside views and welcomes campervans, caravans, motorhomes and tents.
The peaceful site is predominately an adult only campsite with a limited number of pitches for families with children. The location and tranquility attracts repeat visitors year after year.
Spread over three grass fields each pitch includes an awning and space for one car. The "Old Field' is a camping and caravan club certificated site with five hard standings and electric hook-ups. The "New Field' is for touring caravans and motorhomes only and is predominantly an adult only field. The third field is used for rallies and tents but is also as an overflow field for caravans in high season.
There are two toilet blocks, one of which has recently undergone a considerable amount of refurbishment. A shower is 50p and lasts for six minutes. The toilets are checked regularly throughout the day and are shut down for cleaning between 11am - 12 noon. Drinking water is available in the fields and the chemical disposal points are located next to the toilet blocks.
Grange Farm Campsite is a great base for exploring the local area. Frinton-on-Sea and Clacton-on-Sea are just 4 miles and Walton-on-the-Naze is 5 miles away, all with sandy beaches.
The village of Thorpe-le-Soken with its shops, pubs and eateries is only a 10 minute walk away and its railway station just 5 minutes.
The historic town of Colchester is a short distance with a castle, museums, shopping and the famous Colchester Zoo.
Harwich is justly proud of its rich maritime history and this tradition continues today, as it is now the UK's second busiest passenger ferry port. From Ha'Penny Pier Visitor Centre on the Quay there are guided walking tours throughout the summer. Alternatively, you can follow the absorbing Maritime Trail in your own time.
Nearby Dedham made famous by the artist John Constable offers picturesque countryside with a river walk and rowing.
The Tendring Peninsular is a ideal place for nature lovers with many coastal walks and bird watching sites.
