Orchard Camping

Orchard Camping is near the pleasant old market town of Penistone on the edge of the Pennines in South Yorkshire.

The small family-run campsite is split over two separate areas offering spectacular views. The first area is a small enclosed orchard that offers up to 6 camping pitches. This area has access to power if necessary.

The second area is ¼ of an acre used for larger parties or special events. Power is provided to a limited number of pitches in this area.

Showers and toilets are accessible in the court yard area. An interior downstairs bathroom is also available (only accessible between 6 am- 10am and 6pm- 10pm).

In outbuildings on the courtyard there is storage space, a drying area and a basic self-catering kitchen. The kitchen comprises of a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, hob and toasty machine. There is space to eat in this area during wet weather. Complimentary tea and coffee are provided.

Breakfasts, packed lunches, snacks and basic evening meals are available and home baking is available to purchase through the house kitchen.

Orchard Camping is ideal for small groups but especially cycling and walking parties. Road cycling and mountain biking are all catered for. The campsite is an ideal location for accommodation when using the Trans-Pennine Trail.

For walkers flat gentle strolls or challenging hill climbs are all options. Maybe the challenges of Penistone Boundary walk, Barnsley Boundary walk, The Kirklees Way and nearby Pennine Way are all accessible. The five reservoir challenge can be taken as a whole or broken down into manageable chunks, taking in the most fantastic scenery and wildlife. Guided walks can be arranged for groups or parties by a qualified leader.
