Hidden Valley Yurts
Hidden Valley Yurts is set on 80 acre Lower Glyn Farm in the beautiful Usk Valley, Monmouthshire - right in the heart of the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Lower Glyn Farm subscribes to Tir Gofal (which means care of the land in Welsh). This is an environmental scheme which commits the owners, Amanda and Peter to actively encourage and nurture a diverse species of indigenous plants, birds and wildlife on their land. There are 43 acres of mainly native broadleaf trees, including some ancient woodland and 37 acres of old meadows - rich in wildflowers and herbage.
Hidden Valley Yurts offer an eco-friendly alternative to traditional camping - the perfect choice for the eco conscious holiday seeker who wants to 'camp' in comfort.
Five real Mongolian yurts are located in a beautiful, South facing wildflower meadow alongside a stream. With a large, communal kitchen, bathroom, dining tent, the site can accommodate up to 31 people in total and provide an ideal venue for both individual families or for friends and family groups to book the whole site.
Hidden Valley Yurts site is unusual in not banning single sex groups, but - only those seeking peace and quiet and during school holidays the site is for families only. For couples (and those with pre-school children) special deals are offered midweek - a chance to unwind and re-connect in this magical valley.
At Hidden Valley you can experience a simple, eco friendly holiday at a pace that suits you. You don't need to leave the farm - children relish the opportunity to build dens in the woods or dam the stream while adults can usually be found chilling on the large deck, cooking pizzas in the wood burning oven, or wandering through the woods and meadows.
The central campfire, under skies so dark you can see the Milky Way, is the perfect place to meet new friends. For those that like to see the local area, there is a wealth of activities - mountain biking, canoeing, horse riding and climbing are all within easy reach. For keen walkers, footpaths cross the farm leading to all this stunning area offers. For hill climbers the Black Mountains are just a 20 minute drive away.
