Woolacombe's magnificent Blue Flag beach is great for playing in the surf and sand. This beach has won the Blue Flag and the Premier Seaside Beach awards year after year for its cleanliness and water quality.

The Environment Agency has recommended Woolacombe's beach as, "a broad golden sandy beach backed by sand dunes - a safe bathing beach with good surfing conditions, an ideal family beach in every way."

They only give the Blue Flag award to beaches that have the highest quality bathing water, good management, cleanliness and safe conditions. They do not allow speedboats or jet skis on the beach but they do have great facilities for swimming, surfing, windsurfing, sailing and sea canoeing. Guests can also enjoy the exciting new sport of kite surfing at Woolacombe beach.
