Gillside Caravan and Camping is set on a working farm in one of the most scenic of lakeland dales, the reaches of Ullswater, are viewed spread below and along the valley.

Just 5 minutes walk away beside the shores of Ullswater is the village of Glenridding. Here you will find a good selection of general food and gift stores, a National Park information centre, post office, cafes, restaurants and bars.

Touring Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents are welcome at Gillside Caravan and Camping. There are also 6-berth holiday homes for hire plus Bunkhouse accommodation.

Facilities provided for your comfort include a constant supply of hot and cold water in the toilet block with the added benefit of relieving tired and aching muscles with a piping hot shower after your day in the outdoors. Deep sinks are available for the cleaning of pots and pans and a laundry with washer and drier are there for your use.

There is no shop at Gillside Caravan and Camping but the farm will be pleased to supply you with fresh milk and eggs just ask at the farmhouse. There is a Breakfast Van which visits on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The 3 reaches of Ullswater give opportunities for the sailor, wind surfer, and canoeist, plus the more leisurely sailing on the Steamer, which plys a regular scheduled service along this, the second largest lake.

For the fell walker you are at the base of both the Helvellyn and High Street range of mountains, with challenges for both young and not so young. Pony trekking and rock climbing are all available in the area.
