Camping & Caravanning

Longthorns Farm is the perfect place for a Camping and Caravan holiday. The site is well maintained and offers a welcome to caravans, motorhomes, campervans and tents.

Our approach is relaxed, we try and have a non regimental feel to the place, tents and caravans parked at different angles round the outside of the camping field, leaving the middle free for recreation and to enjoy the views.

We offer basic facilities with toilets, showers and cold water washing up sinks.

As a working farm we rear Jersey cattle, make hay and haylage for horse feed. We also breed Alpacas and produce socks from their fleeces. We also have a couple of Shetland sheep, horses, dogs and chickens.

As Longthorns Farm is set next to Monkey World the atmosphere is unique to say the least, the morning may bring the sound of Chimps squawking, Lemurs singing or the boom of tanks as they go about their military exercises. You may even see deer, buzzards, rabbits or hear the owls that frequent the farm.

Our Honesty Shop is on site stocking free range eggs, tea, coffee, sugar, bacon, sausages etc. Our aim is to provide and accommodate for all of your basic needs.

TIPIS FOR HIRE

Fully furnished with Futons Beds, Candles, cushions, Decorative items, Storage chest, Cool box, Solar lights, Windup lantern and an outside Cook house.

The Tipi's are furnished for 4 people, but can accomodate 6 on request, a travel cot is available.

All charcoal, fire wood, kindling is provided, Solar lights,windup lanterns and Candles illuminate your evenings. We aim to accommodate all your basic needs, so all you need to bring is your sleeping bags, pillow, food and drink.

TRADITIONAL SHEPHERD'S HUTS

Take yourself back to the days ,when shepherds lived in their huts, tending their sheep, living a life with basic furnishings, and a pot belly stove to cook and warm themselves.

The Shepherds Huts have a double bed , but can sleep up to 4, with 2 extra beds stored under the double bed, also a travel cot is available
