Manor Court Farm is a working arable and sheep farm on the edge of the village of Ashurst. Set in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the main A264 road five miles west of Tunbridge Wells. It is an ideal base for a relaxing holiday or to explore the surround Kent and Sussex countryside.
CAMPING
Camping is offered in an informal setting in the garden, amongst the old brick and tiled farm buildings, near the pond, and in the field with views to Ashdown Forest.
There are no marked sites. Picnic tables and benches and camp-fire sites, and a limited number of electric hook-up points, are available in various places. Bags of wood can be bought at the farmhouse (you may bring your own wood if you wish, but please do not collect wood from the local countryside!).
A recycling point for glass, paper and cans is provided, and there is also a chemical toilet emptying point. A recently renovated old cowshed offers excellent toilet and shower facilities, and laundry area, with coin-operated washing machine and drier. A fridge-freezer and microwave oven is also available for guests' use. We have also adapted an adjacent building to house several washing-up basins, with hot and cold water.
BED AND BREAKFAST
One double and two twin rooms are available throughout the year and are tastefully and comfortably furnished to a high standard. Each room in our farmhouse holiday accommodation has hot and cold water, tea making facilities, a television set and wonderful views of the gardens and surrounding countryside. Our spacious bedrooms are complemented by two large bathroom/shower rooms, exclusively for guests' use. A lounge/sitting room with an open fire, television, and DVD player is available for the comfort of our guests, whilst in good weather there are lovely places to sit outside and enjoy a cup of tea and the gardens.
OUT AND ABOUT
Ideally situated for visiting historic houses, castles, abbeys, archaeological sites, beautiful gardens, the coast, oast houses and hop gardens, all set in the lovely countryside in the South East of England. The farm is situated on the Kent/Sussex border and both counties have a lot to offer. Kent is known as 'the Garden of England'
