Waveney River Centre

Located in the Norfolk Broads National Park, Waveney River Centre boasts some of the most breathtaking views in the area. This peaceful, welcoming centre gives visitors the chance to relax and watch the many species of wildlife and the comings and goings of boaters.

Those staying at the Waveney River Centre can explore the Norfolk Broads by canoe or by day cruiser. The surrounding countryside can be explored by bike or by foot. Visitors can also choose to enjoy the beautiful views across the marshes straight from comfort of Waveney River Centre.

Waveney River Centre features a small, family-oriented touring and camping area that can accommodate up to 17 touring caravans and up to 35 tents. The touring and camping area is set in a tranquil south-facing location overlooking both the marina and the river.

Facilities of the touring and camping site include a washing up area with hot and cold running water, heated shower rooms and WCs. There is one dedicated disabled WC and shower and 2 family rooms that include baby changing facilities. Other facilities include a laundrette with washing machines, tumble dryers, an iron and a large sink. All of these quality facilities are open and available 24 hours a day.

The campsite area was completely re-modelled in 2012 so that every single one of the pitches in on level ground with stunning views across the marina. The site's family pitches are all large and none of them are less than 8m x 9m in size. The premium Coot pitches are huge in size with none less than 12m x 10m in size. Pitches located in the main camping area come with electric hook-up as standard.

David Bellamy personally suggested that the site do some planting in between their pitches, and with the 2012 improvements this has been accomplished. Now visitors can find themselves sharing their pitches with some beautiful butterflies. This new planting means that visitors tent, car and party must fit on the pitch provided, with no exceptions. Before booking everyone should check the size of their tent to ensure that their entire party, including their car, will fit easily on the pitch as it is described. There are fire regulations in place that require that the site ensure that there is a 3m gap between any 2 pitched tents on the campsite.

Waveney River Centre reserves the right to ask any customer to re-pitch their tent is they do no comply with these requirements. This is done in order to protect the safety of all of the site's visitors.

The site's children's play area has some new additions as well as such as the new adventure play tower and a balance trail. Children can also choose to explore Eddie's Secret Garden where they can see bugs and insects or hide out in the willow huts.

Waveney River Centre's other facilities include the family-friendly Waveney Inn, Eddie's Pool and Cafe and a large convenience store and off-licence.

The site's pub is open every day and allows families to eat inside. The shop and off-licence sells all of the essentials such as clothing, fishing and camping gear, gifts and a variety of local produce, including Eddie's famous beer.

HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION FOR HIRE

Waveney River Centre's luxury holiday lodges, cottage and penthouses are all very spacious and exceedingly well-appointed. They features fully-integrated kitchen appliances, a digital TV and DVD and south facing with beautiful views across the marshes. These accommodation are perfect for holidays all year round. They all feature a bird feeder located outside beside the balcony and lounge window.
