Adjoining Dunsdon National Nature Reserve, Dunsdon Farm is a 54 acre farm that is situated in open countryside. The nature reserve is designated SSSI as a rare and protected culm grassland area. The farm is set in lovely North Devon countryside just a mile from the border of Cornwall. The park is in a great location for exploring both North Devon and the Cornwall coast. Just 5 miles away is the market town of Holsworthy and just 6 miles away is the coastal town of Bude in Cornwall.

CAMPING PODS

Dunsdon Farm does not believe that camping is about being wet and dealing with mud or experiencing freezing sleepless night. They also do not believe that it should be about "glamping� with sofas or sofa lights that have recently become popular.

They think that camping should bring you a little bit closer to nature but without all of the hardship and discomfort that is generally associated with a soggy and cramped tent.

Therefore Dunsdon Farm offers Quarry Pods that are weather tight, fully insulated and heated so that campers no longer have to worry about sleepless nights. Each Quarry Pod has its own private washroom that is complete with a shower, basin and a toilet nearby. The farm also has an undercover communal area that is complete with tables and chairs for days that aren't perfectly pleasant.

These stylish Quarry Pods are solid timber built structures that can be used all year round and are available for all year round unlike many other camping sites. They provide comfortable accommodation no matter what the weather. You won't have to worry about a flapping canvas.

They are connected to mains electrical power which gives you electric lighting and a heater. You can also operate appliances and reading lamps. You won't have to deal with a smelly sleeping bag that has to be placed on damp rocky or insect-infested ground. Each Quarry Pod is insulated, heated and warm.

When you stay in a Quarry Pod at Dunsdon Farm you will be closer to nature but you won't have to deal with mud, damp or cold even if it is the middle of winter. You can experience camping without the hassle. Guests can just show up and throw their sleeping bags down and pour a glass or two. If you prefer you can hire one of the site's fold down beds to sleep on instead of bringing a sleeping bag.

Every camping pod comes with a heater, lighting, door and window blinds, a rug and a cool-box.

HOLIDAY COTTAGES

They also offer a holiday cottage for hire at Dunsdon Farm. Guests can enjoy a family holiday or a short break to relax and rejuvenate themselves. The Old Shippon is a 5 Star accommodation that is set on a truly historic Devon Farm.

This cottage is set within a historic farm courtyard setting and it has its own private entrance and garden. Some of the buildings date from the medieval period. They restored the cottage in 2011 to extremely high standards. It features a solid oak staircase, doors and skirting. They have decorated it was a contemporary feeling though it still retains the charm of its historic agricultural past. You can unwind at The Old Shippon and enjoy a luxury farm cottage holiday in lovely Devon.
