The Cross Inn Caravan Park

Situated in Cauldon Lowe, The Cross Inn Caravan Park is a great camping and caravanning site. Cauldon Lowe is a lovely rural village that is set 2 miles from Alton Towers, Staffordshire.

The Cross Inn Caravan Park offer both camping and caravanning facilities and the option of bed and breakfast or staying in one of the static caravans. They are ideally located for visiting the surrounding area.

They offer 30 tent and 20 caravan pitches as well as static caravan pitches. There are two NEW shower blocks - one for Females / Disabled and one for Gents. The showers are coin operated and take 50p coins.

• Yearly Static pitches £3000.00

The Cross Inn Caravan Park have a comprehensive food menu and an extensive range of beverages which gives you the opportunity to unwind in a family friendly environment. They have the option to dine in at the restaurant or for you to relax in front of the open fire.

The Cross Inn is undergoing a full refurbishment and they feature an on-site fully stocked shop. They make the perfect place to come back to after a long and fun filled day.

They serve breakfast from 7.00 am to 8.30 am but must be pre-ordered.

OUT AND ABOUT

• Staffordshire has a variety of attractions. They are known for the production of pottery, brewing and for being the home of Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park, 2 of Britain's favourite theme parks

• Running through Staffordshire are the rivers Blyth, Churnet and Trent. There is also a canal network that encompasses the Birmingham and Fazely, Caldon, Coventry, Shropshire Union, Trent and Mersey Canals.

• The area around Stoke on Trent has been manufacturing pottery since 17th century. There are 6 towns that are collectively known as "The Potteries" -  which are Burslem, Fenton, Hanley, Longton, Stoke and Tunstall which make up the city of Stoke on Trent. Some incomparable examples of fine porcelain and pottery that are manufacture here include Copeland, Minton, Spode and Wedgwood.

Most of the bottle shaped brick ovens have been taken down now because they have been made redundant by the use of electricity and gas. The few that remain can been seen at the museums devoted to the potteries such as Etruria Industrial Museum.

• Alton Towers which is Britain's best known theme park is nearby in the village of Alton.

• Some other places to visit include Ford Green Hall and Blyth Bridge where you can enjoy a 5 mile round trip on Foxfield Steam Railway.

• You can also go to medieval Stafford Castle and Stafford's oldest house The Ancient High House. The ancestral home of Lord Lichfield, Shugborough Hall, which is a historic working estate in the care of the National Trust can be seen at nearby Milford.

• Situated in Southern Staffordshire, the Cathedral city of Lichfield is dominated by the Cathedral's 3 graceful spires which are known as "the ladies of the vale". Samuel Johnson's birthplace, the house on the corner of Breadmarket Street, is now a museum. You can also visit the Lichfield Heritage Centre which is a museum that tells the story of the city over the last 2,000 years.

• You can also visit the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of Cannock Chase which features rolling hills, heath lands and a wide variety of wildlife. Cannock Chase is a well known beauty spot that is great for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers to enjoy.
