The Royal Oak is a great base for exploring the wonderful southern Peak District. This charming country pub takes great pride in offering a very traditional style of hospitality that is complete with a cosy pub atmosphere, good company, cask-conditioned ales, a fine selection of wines and a menu of hearty English pub food.

They are open for fresh coffee and hearty breakfasts from 10 am. They serve food all day every day from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. so that you can sit back and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Royal Oak any time.

The Royal Oak's refurbished Bunk Burn accommodation is in an original stone barn. You can also choose to stay on their informal family friendly campsite.

CAMPSITE

The camping grounds are located to the rear of the pub. The charming campsite can accommodate up to 40 pitches on 2 levels. There is direct access to the Tissington and High Peak Trails. You access the camping field through a standard 5 bar gate.

The Royal Oak campsite features separate male and female toilets each with hot showers. The blocks were refurbished in 2009 and there are outside washing up facilities that you share with the Bunk Barn. There are no electric hook-ups.

From April to September there is a 2 night minimum stay in the campsite on the weekends with payment in advance. This is non-refundable. You must pay in full in advance if you would like to secure a booking, which is non-refundable.

THE BUNK BARNS

You can sleep soundly in the snug surroundings of The Royal Oak's traditional barn that in located in the heart of the Peak District in a wonderful rural location. The Bunk Barn is open for guests all year round.

The barn is perfect for 1 up to 42 people. They accept both small and large groups. You will find comfortable, clean and refurbished dormitory style accommodations on your stay. It features 6 separate bunk rooms. There are 4 rooms for 8 people, 1 for 6 and 1 for 4. They are all heated and lockable. Every bunk bed has a comfortable mattress, a pillow and fresh linen consisting of a sheet and a pillow case. You must bring your own duvet or sleeping bag.

The Bunk Barn features a small communal kitchen with fridge, oven and kettle. It can seat from 5 to 6 people. There is no large communal indoor space. There are refurbished separate ladies and gents toilets and hot showers that are shared with the campers.
