ADULTS ONLY PARK

In 1999 a group of independent touring parks formed an association to promote the concept of child-free touring parks. They called themselves the Tranquil Touring Parks in order to reflect the relaxed environment of the parks without the hustle and bustle and noise of children.

Many of the group's customers have had children or have cared for children for most of the year and want to be able to relax on their holiday without children.

Gelderwood Country Park is one of these parks. It nestles between the River Naden and Cheeseden Book. It lies ¼ mile from the rural hamlet of Ashworth. The park comprises 10 acres of well maintained grounds and about 15 acres of mature woodland, which is very popular with walkers.

It is laid out around landscaped lawns with mature trees and hedges so guests never feel crowded. All of their pitches are flat, all-weather hard standings. During the main season there is a choice of grass pitches. Each pitch has a 16 amp electric hook-ups.

The site feature clean, modern facilities that are inside of a well-equipped and heated building that has a disabled suite. The showers are roomy. There is no extra charge for showers or hot water.

Adjacent to the facilities building are sheltered washing up sinks. The reception can sell you gas as well as tell you about all of the things to do and see at their tourist information kiosk.

The site's 15 acres of woodland and riverside walks are great for exercising your dogs. You can also enjoy a picnic on the meadow during fine weather.

The park is open year round for guests to enjoy country pursuits or visit Great Manchester's attractions at anytime. Lancashire's welcome is warm no matter what the season.

? £20.00 per night including Electric for Caravans and Motor Homes
