Jerusalem Farm is located in a nature reserve so you can have a true camping experience getting closer to nature. It is located in the picturesque Luddenden Valley near Halifax, making it well placed.
An almost hidden gorge deep in heart of Pennine Yorkshire, Luddenden is a steep and narrow valley. Luddenden Beck has long exploited by local mills for its fast-flowing waters. It runs along its base and it is by the banks of this brook that Jerusalem Farm is sited. Because the park is a nature reserve it is still in perfect shape with untouched woods on the surrounding slopes and steep valley walls. There are no vehicles allowed for maximum peace and tranquillity. You can park your cars up by the reception and carry your equipment down to the camping fields.
There is excellent hill walking in the region that draws many visitors. You can walk along the Pennine Way and The Calderdale Way which is a 50 mile circular walk. Much of the area is protected countryside so you are sure to spot plenty of wildlife. The area is an important breeding and nesting area for distinctive birds including the curvy-beaked curlew and the splendid, crested lapwing. Wherever there is an abundance of heather you are sure to see red grouse hopping around.
You can enjoy the often overlooked jewel of England's countryside. Scratch beneath the surface and you will find yourself strongly attracted to this wild, understated landscape.
Prices per person per night: adults £5, children £3, under-5s go free. Tents Only.
