Alde Garden

Set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Alde Garden is a small, tranquil and low-impact campsite. It features a wide range of quirky and unusual accommodation and a few camping pitches. All of this is set within a compact and peaceful 1 acre wildlife garden. The site has a warm, communal feeling and it appeals to individuals, couples or small families that are looking for a tranquil holiday close to nature.

GYPSY CARAVAN

The traditional gypsy caravan is a romantic accommodation. Alde Garden's is a fine example of unique and exceptional workmanship and beauty. It is the perfect accommodation for 2 people. It has a cosy and extremely comfortable double bed that is tucked away behind a curtain and at night it is lit by solar fairy lights and tea light lanterns. It even has a small wood burner built in to keep you warm. The site includes wood briquettes that are made from recycled wood shavings. When you stay for 3 nights or more they include 200 thread count 100 percent cotton sheets, wool blankets and pillows with 800 thread count pillowcases. The gypsy caravan is parked next to an old wooden donkey shed which has been converted and fitted out in order to provide an extra living and cooking spaces, should you need it. Inside of it there is a traditional washstand, seating, cupboard space, a table and a gas stove as well as basic cooking equipment.

BADGER COTTAGE

The Badger Cottage is a converted barn that is over 200 years old and which has had many uses over the years. They knew as soon as they saw it that it would make a lovely, cosy holiday cottage. It is built from traditional red brick. It has stunning beams and a cute barn door. They are sure that you will find this gorgeous cottage an ideal retreat.

TENTS

Alde Garden has space for 4 small tents a maximum of 3m x 3m and there is room for one large tent at about 5m x 6m. There is a sheltered cooking and eating area that has a chiminea for cooler evenings. You may not need as much space within your own tent for cooking, eating or socialising because of this. Remember though that Alde Garden is a quiet site.

YURT

A Yurt will give you a holiday with a difference. When you sleep in one it is a truly magical experience that will stay with you forever. It offers the perfect balance between luxury and a rustic accommodation.

You will sleep under canvas but in a large, wonderful dome-shaped handmade wooden framed tent with solid wood floors and a real futon bed. They include all the comforts of soft sofas, chairs and rugs but they have no electricity. At night the yurts glow by candlelight or the twinkle or solar fairy lights.

TIPI

There is a Native American style tipi that has a real atmosphere of adventure about it that is mixed with cosiness. It features a soft Futon bed by a warm wood burner. The tipi's amazing 24' pine poles reach for the stars and will transport you to another time and place. It's cosy circular space is perfect to fit 2 people, although it can sleep up to 4 people. It comes equipped with everything that you will need, whether you are looking to rough it or glamp it.

BELL TENT

The Bell Tent is the newest accommodation at Alde Garden. The bell tent is the same size as the yurt but it has no wood burner. It does have more sleeping and lounging space though. Up to 6 people can sleep in the bell tent but it works best with 2 to 4 people. It comes with a fixed groundsheet, futon beds, low tables, rugs and solar fair lights around the outside wall to light it at night.
