Open between July and August of every year, the Hideaway is an exclusive, small family run tipi site.

They are located less than 10 miles from lovely Lands End, St. Ives and the market town of St. Just. They are situated 7 miles from the train station and A30 at Penzance. However, the park is far away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.

The Hideaway is appropriate for both seasoned campers and those that are having their first outdoor holiday. You will get back to nature, but you will still have comfortable accommodations.

They offer 5 tipis that are nestled within 3 acres of a smallholding. Each tipi overlooks the beautiful blue sea and is directly attached to the edge of 54 acres of Chun Downs Nature Reserve. The site features luxuriously equipped accommodations but does not lose the feeling of what traditional camping is supposed to be about. Every one of the tipis can sleep up to 4 people. This creates a nice number of people that are on the site at any one time. It stills keeps the intimate atmosphere that is lost at some larger sites. The Hideaway is perfect for couples, artists, photographers, walkers, families, surfers, dreamers and more.

Facilities include a covered eating area with straw bale tables, a fully equipped cooking tipi, a large campfire, barbecues, a refrigerator, a freezer, power sockets and a family bathroom with a hot running spring water shower.

DIRECTIONS From Penzance Direction (A30):

Stay on the A30 past Penzance toward Madron, turn off A30 right towards Madron, continue through Madron following signs for Morvar, after approx 5 miles start looking out for the tipi signs! The first tipi sign is giving you warning that you are approx 1 mile from the next turning you need to take, take a left when you see the sign for Carne Farm and The Hideaway Tipi on your left, take the road through the farm (following arrows on the tipi signs all the way) head out of the farmyard and up the hill along a bumpy track...approx half a mile along you will find a crossroads, turn left here and you will also see a sign for The Hideaway...you have arrived!
