Set in the heart of Strensall Common and bordering a scientific nature reserve opposite York Golf Course, Moorside Caravan Park is the perfect setting for a peaceful and tranquil holiday. You can fish in the site’s private lake or play golf at York Golf Course or you can simply relax.

The park is not suitable for children but it is suitable for those that are in search of rest and relaxation.

Just a short drive away from the site there are many places of interest. There are the picturesque market towns of Helmsley, Pickering and Malton. You can visit Castle Howard which is the location for the television series “Brideshead Revisited” or the pretty ruins of Rievaulx Abbey. You can enjoy scenic drives through Dalby Forest and explore quaint Yorkshire villages. You can even take a trip back in time on the North York Moors Railway from Pickering to Grosmont and know what the age of steam was like. Lastly you could enjoy the seaside resorts of Scarborough, Filey and Whitby with their cobbled streets and colourful harbours. There is something for everyone to enjoy in the area.

FISHING

Moorside has its own private lake that is well stocked with a variety of coarse fish. This includes specimen carp, roach, rudd, bream and tench. The fishing lake can only be used by caravanners. It costs an additional charge of £2.00 per day to fish in the lake, which is a great value for fishing in York and Yorkshire.
