A friendly, small campsite, Fishleigh Farmhouse Touring Site welcomes caravans, motor homes, trailer tents and tents.

They offer both hard and soft standing pitches. Some of the pitches feature electric hook-ups.

The campsite is near the village of Umberleigh in the parish of Chittlehampton. This is a very quiet and almost undiscovered part of the country.

Guests can enjoy wonderful river walks from the site going downstream toward Barnstaple. The walks go through Murch Bros Engineers, which used to be the biggest tractor workshop in North Devon.

This walk takes you under the railway bridge on a very peculiar footway, along a beautiful riverside walk. You can stand in the centre of the bridge and see spectacular views both up and down the river.

Set on the picturesque rural branch line between Barnstaple and Exeter in Devon, the Umberleigh station is known as the Tarka line. It was named after Henry Williamson's bestselling book Tarka the Otter. A journey on this railway provides wonderful views.

Umberleigh Station has earned the Best Kept Station Award, like most of the stations on the Tarka line.

In Umberleigh, you will find many great places, like the River Taw, where you can enjoy private fishing. There are also 4 excellent pubs within 4 miles and a wide range of local shops.

The Cobbaton Combat Collection is one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area. It is somebody's hobby that got a little out of hand.

It is a military museum that houses a collection of 50 vehicles and thousands of other dusty exhibits from the Boer War right up to the Gulf War.
