Situated on a working dairy farm, Newbiggin Farm Campsite is located on the banks of the River Esk and features stunning views of Eskdale Valley and Scafell Pike. They have a herd of 40 friesian cows.
Within easy reach of the site are areas to go fell walking and areas to go for a nice easy stroll on the beach.
The site's facilities include 6 electric hook-ups, toilets and wash basins with running hot water. They also have a shower installed in the farm yard, fresh running drinking water and a chemical disposal point. The site allows well behaved dogs. They offer hard standings for 2 units so that site is ideal for year round camping.
You can see wonderful panoramic views from each pitch on the site. They also have a rally field that has amazing views of the fells and across the River Esk. This is ideal for bird watching groups. Newbiggin Farm Campsite is great for fishing, sea fishing, fell walking and mountain climbing. The site is also just 1 mile away from a beach which makes it great for beach combing groups. The area is so beautiful that it is great for groups of photographers.
Only 4 miles away from the site are Ravenglass, Eskdale Miniature Railway, Muncaster Castle and Owl Centre. Just 12 miles away from the site is Sellafield Visitor Centre. Approximately 10 miles away from the site is the deepest Lake in the Lakes, Wastwater Lake.
We have a field available for camping & caravan club members rallies. The field has a chemical disposal point & washing out water, we now have drinking water & 6 electric hookup points installed in the field. We have also extended our toilet & shower block, we now have 3 showers & 2 toilets just accross the lane within the farmyard.
DIRECTIONS
From M6 Junction 36: Take A590 to Greenodd turn right onto A5092 signposted Whitehaven/Workington then follow A595, turn right at Silecroft signpost Whitehaven/Workington then follow A595 for approx 8 miles through the village of Bootle 5 miles north into Waberthwaite. Turn left at school signposted Newbiggin. Site 1 mile off A595 on left.
