Located in the heart of the Machars Peninsula in South West Scotland, Castlewigg Caravan Park offers all their guests a very warm welcome.

Castlewigg Caravan Park is the perfect place for your well deserved holiday whether you like to enjoy it with private ownership of a caravan holiday home or with a touring or a camping pitch.

The site welcomes tents, touring caravans, motor homes and trailer tents. They offer a choice of grass or hard standing pitches and an electrical hook-up facility. You must advise what your preference is at the time of booking. Rock pegs are required for hard standing pitches.

Castlewigg Caravan Park's facilities are immaculately cleaned and are well-maintained. They offer free showers and have a hot and cold washing up area. You can use hair dryers that are on metered tokens.

The laundry room is equipped with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing facilities. The site has a free loan service of a hairdryer and iron. You can get Calor Gas on site and Camping Gaz is sourced locally.

Castlewigg Caravan Park is situated 18 miles south of Newton Stewart and 2 miles north of Whithorn on the A746. It is surrounded by beautiful unspoilt countryside and there are sandy beaches located just 5 miles away. It is an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and tranquillity. Because of this the site does not accept single sex groups. Castlewigg caters to couples and families.

The area is excellent for outdoor pursuits, especially walking, cycling and bird watching. There are also many golf courses around for golf lovers.

The Gulf Stream gives the area a mild climate. There are many gardens in the area including the Galloway House, Castle Kennedy and Logan Botanical that boast a range of tropical plants.

It is an ideal base for exploring Wigtownshire and the beautiful countryside, coastlines and towns and villages of the Machars. There is something for everyone to enjoy be it the pretty harbour towns of the Isle of Whithorn, Garlieston and Port William, the booktown of Wigtown or the golden sands at Monreith beach. You will not be disappointed by a visit to Castlewigg.

We are open from the 1st March to 31st October for touring and camping.

Private holiday home owners enjoy an extended season from the 1st of March to 7th January.
