Hadrians Wall Camping and Caravan Site is a small, family run 4-star secluded site lying close to Hadrian's Wall, 2 miles north of Melkridge Village in the historic and beautiful border territory of Northumberland.

Tents, caravans, motorhomes, children and dogs will all have a warm welcome from our friendly, family run site set within magnificent unspoilt landscapes.
The site is laid out on level grass pitches with wonderful views. There is a Café shop on site for home cooking, breakfast and packed lunches.
Intending to walk the wall? Why not use the central site of Hadrian's Wall Camping and caravan site as your base? We can arrange transport to and from your starting/finishing point each day, leaving you free to enjoy the walk and collapse into your caravan/tent at the end of the day!
CAMPING AND CARAVANNING
Caravan pitches are located on a large semi circle or on several level sites
The site is made up of several levels which can accommodate tents, motorhome's on Hard standing or grass pitches.
We have individual pitches such as 'Sherpa 'at the top of the site or Upper Square/Lower Square which can accommodate larger units.
Everest at the very top commands stunning views and the sunsets are a fantastic spectical.
We have a dedicated camping strip especially for back-packers which are always welcome and do not have to book.
In the summer months try our wild camping field. Ideal for the larger families with little ones.
The 'Cook-house' is for the use of backpackers and campers alike. A small cooker and free Gas is supplied for the use of backpackers.
BUNK BARN ACCOMMODATION
A centrally heated bunk barn which sleeps ten people is available. Its bookable per bunk per night or for longer periods by negotiation. A discount can be arranged for sole occupancy of more than one night. There are two bedrooms sleeping four and six people in bunks beds. Bed Linen can be hired. Basic cooking facilities are provided.
The bunk barn is well insulated, centrally heated and is situated adjacent to the new shower and toilet facility which also includes a laundry room with fridge freezer.
This accommodation would ideally suit walkers who want more comfort than a tent, particularly out of season, or may be booked as emergency bad weather contingency.
OUT AND ABOUT
The site is located less than half a mile from the most dramatic stretch of Hadrian's Wall between Newcastle and Carlisle and is ideally placed for visiting many of the Roman sites.
As well as being a World Heritage site, Hadrian's Wall was opened in May 2003 as a National Trail Path between Wallsend on the east coast and Bowness-on Solway on the west coast.
There are walks in every direction making it the ideal place for those interested in wildlife, history and archaeology within breathtaking scenery.
The Penine Way and the new cycle trail and Penine Bridal Way are also on the doorstep!
Vindolanda and Roman army museum are close by and well worth a visit and Haltwhistle (the centre of Britain) is close by.
The site is centrally placed for touring - the Lake District, Kielder Water, North Pennines and Gateshead Metro Centre are all less than a hour's drive away.
For the more sedentary visitor the Hadrian's Wall bus enables you to visit the full length of this magnificent Heritage site in comfort (full details are available from the campsite).
