Located in the village of Doddington in the heart of the Kent Downs is the quiet Palace Farm Hostel & Campsite. It is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is famous for its scenery and wildlife. There are plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and enjoying the great outdoors.

Palace Farm Hostel & Campsite is a traditional tents only park that is set in a lovely green field surrounded by nature and wildlife. The owners live on site to run the campsite. They are a quiet campsite and they ask all of their guests to respect the peace and quiet. The only noise that guests should hear it is sound of green woodpeckers, little owls, pheasants, chickens and other wildlife.

Guests can bring their own tent or hire one of the site's pre-erected Tipi Style tents.

Palace Farm Hostel & Campsite is a quiet site and it is not for people that are looking to party. They expect peace and quiet after 10:00 p.m. Those making excessive noise after 11:00 p.m. will be asked to leave immediately without a refund.

They offer fire pits for hire where guests can light camp fires. You can only burn wood in the campfires. They have a strict rule of not gathering wood from the hedges and trees around the campsite or from the local countryside. Guests can purchase logs from the site's local woodman.

TARIFFS

Palace Farm Hostel & Campsite is open from Easter until the middle of October, depending on the weather.

The prices per person include pitch, parking for one car, use of facilities and all hot water. Facilities include a small freezer for ice blocks. There is no charge for modest gazebos.

Child £4 per night (3 to 15 yrs)

? Minimum pitch price for Friday and Saturday £12 per night.

Guests must arrive after 12 noon and on the day of departure guests must leave before 12 noon.

The does not have hook-ups and they do not allow generators.

TIPI STYLE TENTS FOR HIRE

The site offers pre-erected Tipi style accommodations made by Albion Canvass out the best white cotton canvas for hire. The Tipis features a good, strong groundsheet and 2 mattresses and sleeping mats. There is a fire pit so that you can cook your own food and so that you can sit by it on a warm summer evening, perhaps with a bottle of wine. The tipi tents are available from May, when the weather is warmer and the ground should be drier.

They take down the Tipis in September when the ground is still dry so they are not available for hire in October.

Palace Farm is situated on a family farm in a rural village. There is a pub in the village. The farm is set in the North Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The local area is perfect for cycling, walking and viewing the beauty of the countryside. You can walk through the heart of the Downland which features beautiful wooded valleys and a mixture of farmland which conceals many old and interesting villages.

The campsite is set in a central location which makes it perfect for exploring Canterbury, Rochester, Chatham, Leeds Castle and the many other historic towns, villages and castles in Kent. They are in a great location for taking day trips to London by either train or car. There are old country houses to explore and ancient churches to visit. Guests can also relax in a quiet village pub or watch the local cricket team on the green during the weekends.

Less than a half an hour's cycle ride away is the North Kent Marshes which is great for seeing birds, seals and enjoying the salty air. Guests can bring their wellies, binoculars, cameras and paint brushes enjoy the fun.
