Overbrook Caravan Park
Overbrook Caravan Park is a friendly, adult only caravan park on the outskirts of the picture-postcard village of Thornton-le-Dale in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
It is an ideal base for touring the Vale of Pickering, Newton Dale, Ryedale and the beautiful Yorkshire coastline from Scarborough to Whitby.
Overbrook Caravan Park and grounds are maintained to a high standard with colorful planted borders and raised beds adding to the natural beauty of the countryside.
There are 50 well-drained, hard standing pitches all with countryside views. You can choose a regular size with space for an awning or a non-awning pitch. All have 16amp electric hook-up and you are never more than 30 yards from a water point.
There is a heated and spotlessly clean toilet block with free showers with plenty of hot water. Additional features are razor points for the men and one privacy cubicle for the ladies and a hair-dryer is provided. There is a dish-washing area and a laundry room equipped with two coin operated washers and dryers plus ironing facilities.
OUT AND ABOUT
Overbrook Caravan Park is your gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors. Dalby Forest is just 3 miles from the caravan site and a little further is lovely Newton Dale. Watch steam trains climb through colorful heathers and forest on their way to Goathland; better known as Aidensfield in Yorkshire TV's Heartbeat. Here, livestock roam freely over remote, rugged Yorkshire moors and crystal clear becks make their rocky descent into Eskdale.
Pickering, a few miles from Overbrook Caravan Park, is the main shopping center with a 12th century castle. It is the terminus of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway which crosses 18 miles of moor to the pretty fishing harbor at Whitby, overlooked by its iconic cliff-top abbey. Helmsley is a picturesque, historic town close to Rievaulx Abbey
Within 30 minutes, you can drive to the golden sands at Scarborough and Filey. North of Scarborough the coastal route features dramatic headlands, high cliffs, hidden coves and abundant wildlife. Robin Hood's Bay is especially worth a visit.
