Celyn Brithion Caravan & Camping Site

Set within The Snowdonia National Park, Celyn Brithion is a family-run site that has magnificent scenery all around including green and purple mountains, ancient woodlands and fast flowing rivers. Celyn Brithion is within easy reach of the coastal resorts of Barmouth and Aberdovey.

The local area has attractions to suit all tastes including sandy beaches, sailing, fishing, activity centres for most outdoor pursuits, mountain biking, horse riding and quad biking. Within easy reach of Celyn Brithion is Cader Idris which is ideal for walkers. Also within easy reach is the Dovey Valley Trail, places to go bird watching, RSBP centre, Bala Lake and Lake Vyrnwy.

There is an endless list of attractions and activities to enjoy in the area.

Celyn Brithion is near the market towns Machynlleth, which has a market every Wednesday, and Dolgellau, which has a market every Friday.

Near Celyn Brithion is Meirion Mill where you can purchase gifts, jewellery, pottery, crafts, woollens and much more. The Meirion Mill was the terminus of the Old Mawddwy Railway. It features breathtaking views of the mountains and the River Dyfi. Next to Meirion Mill’s entrance gate is the double arched Packhorse Bridge which was built over 300 years ago and which spans the river.

Guests can enjoy an inspiring walk to the scene of King Arthur’s last battle at Camlan which is a place steeped in myth and legend. There King Arthur was forced to fight his nephew Medrawt. You can also visit King Arthur’s Labyrinth at Corris where an underground boat will take you into the amazing caverns where tales of King Arthur are told with stunning light effects and sound.

Nearby are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns where you can travel underground on Britain’s steepest passenger railway to reach the bottom of the Deep Mine. There you will witness a dramatic sound and light programme presenting working conditions as they were.

Another great attraction is the Centre for Alternative Technology where you can ride the water powered cliff railway into an inspiring experience. There is plenty there to stimulate and amused both young and old.

Guests can climb through Snowdonia National Park and see views of the Vale of Ffestiniog on the Ffestiniog Railway from Pothmadog to Blaneau Ffestiniog.

Wales has many superb golfing facilities and some that are near the site include the ones at Aberdovey, Dolgellau, Machynlleth, Borth and Harlech.
