OUT AND ABOUT

The towns of Blackburn, Bolton and Darwen are close by and features shops, pubs, restaurants and more.

Darwen borders the windswept West Pennine Moors where you can soak in the stunning views as you hike, bike or horse ride along any of the area's pathways. It is also a friendly market town that you can visit and shop in.

You can take a gentle stroll along Sunnyhurst Wood's 7 miles of paths for a magnificent view of Darwen and the Moors. The path leads towards the 86 foot tall Darwen Tower that was built at the end of the 1800s to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. You can also visit the quaint old Keepers Cottage that is now a Visitor Centre, Art Galley and cosy café as well as an Olde English Kiosk.

Darwen Golf Course features 18 challenging holes that keen golfers will enjoy. There are numerous waterways and reservoirs in the area so fishermen have a variety of choices.

The Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales run down the eastern flank of Lancashire. The Lake District falls on its northern boundary and the Irish Sea goes down its western side. There are major rivers flowing over its coastal plain to the sea. The Forest of Bowland is in between and is another area of natural beauty that you can explore.

Only 45 minutes away on the M65 is the world famous seaside resort of Blackpool. Blackpool Tower, Pleasure Beach and many more things offer fun for the entire family.

DIRECTIONS:

From the M65 junction 5, leave the motorway - follow Blackburn signs, turn left at first roundabout into Blackmoor Road. Left at 2nd set of traffic lights, follow road for approximately 2 miles, caravan park on left.
