Just 2 miles from Chard, South Somerset and bordering Dorset and Devon, Alpine Grove Touring Park is set in 8.5 acres of mature oak, beach and birch trees.
Whether you've got a Tent, Caravan or Motor Home, you'll be able to pitch up amongst the Rhododendrons in a spot flooded with sunlight or in some shady nook where you can enjoy nature at its best with friends or family and you can even bring the dog.
Alpine Grove Touring Park has laundry facilities in the modern single amenity block as well as free hot water, hand basins, shaving points and hand and hair dryers. There is also a bathroom for families and facilities for the disabled.
Also on site are freshwater taps at various locations, dish washing sinks, Bins for refuse and recycling and disposal facilities for chemical and water waste are nearby.
The onsite shop can take care of your everyday requirements like bread and milk or treats like cakes and honey. Camping gas, calor gas and freezer packs are also available. The shop doubles as the reception where there is a wealth of information about interesting places to visit and fun days out.
At Alpine Grove Touring Park you not only have the opportunity to explore Somerset, but you can also visit the neighbouring counties of Dorset and Devon.
In Somerset, close to the site, you can visit Montacute House. It's owned by the National Trust and it was built in the 16th century. Inside there's a wonderful display of over 60 Elizabethan and Tudor portraits and outside you can walk around the beautiful gardens. If you're looking for somewhere to take the children, then pop along to Cricket St. Thomas Wildlife Park.
In Dorset, Lyme Regis is only a 20 minute drive away and here you can visit the fossil beaches and Forde Abbey is a magnificent former monastery where there's plenty to see and do, including picking your own fruit during the summer months.
In Devon there's Diggerland for the children and the seaside resort of Seaton where you can take the Seaton Tramway to Colyford and Colyton.
Those of you who prefer activities closer to home can cycle to Illminster, or if you enjoy a challenge then take the 80 mile South Somerset circular route, which passes the campsite.
Walkers can explore the Chard Nature Reserve or if you've got little there are two circular walks from the campsite.
Golfers can enjoy the greens and the driving range at Wind Whistle Golf Club just 2 miles from the site and if you're keen on fishing you can get a permit for the Nature Reserve.
There is plenty to do here if you want to and if you don't, then just relax and enjoy the gorgeous countryside.
