Old Hall Caravan Park

Located in the peaceful hamlet of Capernwray near the Lancaster Canal. Old Hall Caravan Park is a quiet park that is near the Lake District. It is located 2 miles from the village of Over Kellet, 3 miles from the market town of Carnforth and is close to Junction 35 of the M6.

Old Hall Caravan Park is family owned and managed. They offer an excellent standard of service. Their season begins the 1st of March and ends on the 10th of January every year.

It is set in a quiet and secluded part of North Lancashire. The park is surrounded by 80 acres of woodland. You can enjoy it as you wander its paths and view some of the native wildlife including deer, foxes, squirrels, rabbits, badgers and a variety of species of birds.

The park is close to the small market town of Carnforth, which has a good range of shopping including a supermarket. The Carnforth shop sells milk, bread, eggs, newspapers and fruit juices. Old Hall Caravan Park has an adventure playground for children located on-site.

 

TOURING

The touring area is completely separate from the rest of the park. It is set up in a lovely woodland clearing and sheltered from the wind. It provides a pleasant suntrap and has a small soothing stream running by. Every pitch is hard standing and includes an electric supply and TV hook-up points.

Facilities include a spacious and centrally heated toilet and shower block that has a disabled and family room, dishwashing area, laundry and a chemical emptying facility. Using the showers and hair dryers is free.

 

OUT AND ABOUT

The park is set in a great location for walking. There are many lanes and public footpaths nearby.

The countryside that surrounds the site is haven for wildlife. Bird watching is very popular on-site. Within easy reach is the well known Leighton Moss Nature Reserve.

You can go to the Lancaster Canal nearby. There are boats available for hire at the marina in Carnforth. There are 2 swimming pools nearby. You can easily reach the coastal towns of Silverdale and Arnside.

Morecambe and Lancaster have cinemas and there is 10 pin bowling in Morecambe. You can also go coarse fishing and trout fishing locally. There are many village pubs with restaurant facilities in the area. There is a wide variety of takeaway food in Carnforth.

There are golf courses in Lancaster, Morecambe and Kirkby Lonsdale. You will find horse riding stables in Warton and Bolton-le-Sands.

Scuba diving enthusiasts will enjoy Capernwray Diving School.

DIRECTIONS:

Exit the M6 at junction 35, taking the link road, signposted Over Kellet. After approximately 200yards you meet a T junction, turn LEFT along the B6254 and travel approximately 1 mile. Be very wary of the sharp blind bends through the village. At the village green turn left, signposted Capernwray, and travel 1.5 miles, Old Hall is on the right, half a mile up the private driveway.
