Maustin Park

Award winning Maustin Park is situated in a secluded backwater in the heart of Emmerdale Country, just across the River Wharfe from the Harewood House Estate.

It is an ideal base for those wishing to explore Harrogate, Wetherby and the surrounding countryside. The Red Kites released into the wild from Harewood Bird Garden are a spectacular sight soaring high over Maustin Park on a daily basis.

Maustin Park welcomes touring caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and tents to its sheltered camping field. There are excellent facilities including toilets, showers and hairdryers and also a disabled toilet available. There is also a washing up area with hot water, laundry and the use of a freezer is also provided. Water points and bins are located at The Elson Point.

The Camping Pods (or Glamping) offer you a way to enjoy the outdoors in maximum comfort. The only things you'll need are your sleeping bags other than that, you can step right in and get comfy straight away.

On the park is the 'Stables' Bar and Restaurant with its warm friendly atmosphere and is ideal for meeting friends, old and new over a beverage and a traditional home cooked meal.

There is an outdoor bowling green on the park where you can try your hand and for the more serious bowler, membership to the club is available. Many tournaments are held throughout the year culminating in a trophy presentation evening at the end of the bowling season.

For the anglers there is the River Wharfe, which provides fantastic fishing, and is only a few hundred yards away and can be accessed via a public footpath close to the park. A leisurely stroll along the river bank is a must on a glorious hot summers day.

For the energetic there are many walks and cycle trails through the beautiful countryside that surrounds the park and local stables provide the opportunity to trek the valley and picturesque terrain by horse back. Dogs are allowed on the park but must be kept on a lead at all times.

If you want to explore the area further there are many fascinating places to visit including: Harrogate, Historic York, Harewood Castle' Leeds City Centre, Harewood House, Wetherby, Yorkshire Dales National Park, Plumpton Rocks, Almscliffe Crag, Brookland Farm - more commonly known as 'Emmerdale Farm' and Stockeld Park to name a few.

DIRECTIONS:

From the A61 Leeds/Harrogate Road after crossing the River Wharfe at Harewood Bridge take first right signposted KIRBY OVERBLOW. Then right towards KEARBY and right again at the crossroads.
