California Chalet and Touring Park

California Chalet and Touring Park is located in what used to be part of Windsor Forest, a favourite hunting ground of the Tudors. The site’s woodland setting makes it the perfect backdrop to a relaxing holiday. The site became a popular leisure centre, known as the ‘California in England’. Now the site has been designated a Country Park by the Countryside Commission.

The park is open year round and is ideally suited for visiting London, Oxford, the New Forest and the South Coast.

There are 35 individual pitches for touring caravans, motor homes, and tents. Each is hardstanding, has a water supply, a disposal point and room for an awning. The majority of the pitches have electric hook-ups.

The toilet block has hand basins, razor points, and hot showers and is supervised by the owners. There are also outside dishwashing facilities as well as a laundry and clothes-drying area. California Chalet and Touring Park also has facilities for the disabled.

California Chalet and Touring Park has chalets amongst the trees and some on the lakeside. Lakeside chalets have their own private fishing area. Each chalet has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a lounge equipped with an LCD TV and DVD player, and a kitchen area that includes an electric cooker and a refrigerator with a box freezer. Four to eight people can easily sleep in each chalet. Each chalet includes all bedlinen and duvets as well as a convector heater for when it is cold.

There is a Country Park adjacent to the facility that includes nature trails, woodland walks, picnic areas, a children's play area and a paddling pool. There is also a six acre lake in which you can fish for carp, pike, tench, rudd, roach and perch. In order to fish the lake you need a current National River Authority Rod License. If you don't have one you can buy one from a local tackle shop in Wokingham. There is also a fee to fish in the lake. You can get tickets from reception or car park ticket machines on the other side of the lake.

CHALETS/LOG CABINS

There are a variety of two and three bedroom chalets situated in the heart of California Country Park, perfect for a relaxing getaway.

Most of the chalets are situated on the bank of Longmoor Lake and are ideal for fishing, or relaxing in the evening with family or friends. Some chalets are situated away from the lake nestled amongst towering pines and beautiful landscapes, offering incredible views. The surrounding woodland is perfect for walking and boasts an abundance of wildlife.

Every chalet has its own, open planed lounge with LCD TV/DVD player and comfortable sofas. The kitchens come complete with electric hob and oven, refrigerator with box freezer, kettle, microwave and toaster to make any cooking as enjoyable as possible.

Each Chalet will sleep 4 - 8 comfortably. They are fully equipped including all bed linen and duvets and each Chalet is double glazed, full insulated and heated throughout to provide the utmost warmth on chilly evenings.
