OUT AND ABOUT
St Merryn is a few minutes drive and provides several restaurants, a Spar grocey shop (open late hours), post office, fish bar and garage.
The famous harbour town of Padstow is well worth a visit. It boasts shops, places to eat, lovely ice cream, fishing, sea trips, speed boats, lovely walks, crazy golf and much more. You can take the water ferry across to the golden sands of Rock.
Bedruthan Steps (National Trust) is one of the most popular destinations on the Cornish coast. Spectacular clifftop views stretch across Bedruthan beach (not Trust-owned). The Trust has rebuilt the cliff staircase to the beach, but visitors need to be aware of the risk of being cut off by the tide. There is a car park run by the National Trust which has a small fee. There is also a gift shop and cafe on the site.
The Camel Trail is 18 miles and links Padstow to Bodmin and then Wenfordbridge on the disused railway line. Suitable for walkers, cyclists and horses this takes you away from the road and along the Camel Estuary in a tranquil setting.
