Drumroamin Farm

Drumroamin Farm Camping & Caravan Site is a friendly privately owned family-run Caravan park in Newton Stewart. It benefits from an open, level and well-drained field that features fine views of Wigtown Bay and the surrounding hills.

They have a spacious modern heated and well-equipped shower and toilet block that includes a separate room that serves as a family room and disabled room. They have an indoor playroom and a sitting area.

Drumroamin Farm also has static caravans available that are screened from the main campsite with uninterrupted panoramic views of Wigtown Bay and the Galloway Hills. The static caravans have an outdoor deck and lawn area that has patio furniture.

There is a woodland dog walk only 1 mile away from the site. There are dish washing facilities, a washing machine, dryer and an ice pack freezer. They offer secure lock up storage for bikes and boats, which is subject to availability.

Drumroamin is in the heart of the Machars and is within easy reach of many local attractions. Scotland's National Book Town, Wigtown, is only 5 miles from the site. You can also watch the local Osprey from April to September on live cam in the County Buildings.

They are the closest site to the new R.S.P.B. Crook of Baldoon site which you look over from the campsite.

Just a 10 minutes' drive away from Drumroamin Farm is Galloway House Gardens. You can explore the tranquil gardens and have access to Rigg Bay, which is a small private beach. Whithorn, the home of Christianity, is nearby for those who wish to do a pilgrim tour. You will also find St. Ninian's chapel and the cave.

Only 14 miles away is the 7 Stanes cycle routes in the Galloway forest. There are tracks for all of the family and some that are more challenging for bikers. There are trails for everyone. Those who are not keen on cycling can walk for hours on the forest tracks too.

The Bladnoch Distillery, the most southerly distillery in Scotland, is close by. You can take a tour of it and taste the whiskey.

There are great beaches and golf courses in the area to visit. Those who are still up late at night can take in the stars as Galloway was awarded Dark Sky States in 2009. They have no light pollution over their site so the stars on a clear night are fantastic.
