Haughton House Holiday Park

Haughton House Holiday Park is located within the beautiful 40-hectare Haughton Country Park. Located on the banks of the River Don, you can enjoy fishing for salmon and brown trout, and fishing permits are available at reception. Other park facilities include two children’s play areas (one on the campsite itself and one at Haughton Country Park), picnic tables, a riverside trim track and several excellent walking trails through Murray Park. There is also a putting green on the park.

As well as facilities for tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and static holiday homes, there are now two caravan holiday homes available to hire. Both caravans have beautiful views across the Bennachie hills and feature double glazing and central heating.

In the peaceful village of Alford, which is just a 15-minute walk from the park, you can visit the Grampian Transport Museum, which features a large and ever-changing collection of vintage cars, motorcycles, buses, horse-drawn carriages and steam vehicles. The village also has an indoor swimming pool and dry ski slope, as well as several cafés and restaurants.

As a base for exploring, Haughton House Holiday Park is perfectly placed; 15 golf courses are within a half-hour drive, and Balmoral and the castle trail are easily reached, as are the Cairngorms National Park and many of Scotland’s finest whisky distilleries. Alford is just a 45-minute drive from Aberdeen.

The Alford Valley Railway narrow-gauge train runs from Haughton Country Park to the Victorian station in the village. But if you don’t feel like leaving the park, just sit back, take it easy and unwind as you savour the peaceful tranquillity of the surroundings and Haughton’s enthusiastic chorus of birds.
