Exe Valley Caravan Site

Exe Valley Caravan Site occupies a prime position in a wooded valley alongside the River Exe, within the National Park.

The site is ideally situated for visiting the Doone Valley, Tarr Steps, Dulverton and many other beautiful venues in the area.

This four acre 'Adult Only' campsite is owned and managed by Tonia, and Christine Matthews.

Set beside the River Exe or the millstream, 47 pitches have electric and TV hook-ups, and there are 14 hard standings.

The owners live on site in an old mill, complete with water wheel and grindstones that are in working order.

Facilities at Exe Valley Caravan Site include a refurbished toilet block with the usual facilities and an en-suite room for disabled visitors (quite short steep ramp to enter). Excellent laundry with domestic washing and drying machines, plus a microwave (free). Motorcaravan service point. Shop with basic provisions. Gas supplies. Free fly fishing. WiFi. This is an adult-only park.

OUT AND ABOUT

Walks on Exmoor - Starting from the Site entrance.

Bus Service  - To Minehead and Dulverton stopping adjacent to the Site entrance.

Wimbleball Lake - For recreational activities 4 miles.

National Trust and English Heritage Properties - Within easy reach

The Seaside about 12 miles.

West Somerset Steam Railway  - Real trains running from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard.

Canal Barge Trips  - From Tiverton.

Dunster  - A tourist high spot.

Lynmouth & Lynton  - The Harbour, the Rocks and Watersmeet are all charming.

Badgers Holt Inn - Serving good food and real ales - 100 yards.

DIRECTIONS

Leave the M5 at J. 27 and take the A361 toward Tiverton. After 7 miles of dual carriageway, turn right at the roundabout toward Bampton. Turn left at the Exeter Inn roundabout and take care to follow the A396 two miles later at the Black Cat corner. Do not go through Dulverton but continue on the A396 past Exebridge for a further 7 miles. Upon entering Bridgetown, turn left immediately after the Badgers Holt Inn, and the site is on your right.
