Halfway House Inn & Caravan Park in Shropshire is just over a mile out of Bridgnorth in the beautiful scenic countryside of Shropshire. There is a hard standing drive up the middle of the site suitable for Motorhomes and the berths are on the regularly mowed grass on either side.

Bridgnorth is a historic market town situated in Shropshire, England. The town is split between High Town and Low Town, named on account of their elevations relative to the River Severn which runs through Bridgnorth is home to many popular tourist attractions including the funicular railway that links the High town and Low town. It is the steepest and only inland railway of its type in the country so it’s definitely worth a trip!

At the bottom of the funicular on the left-hand side you will find one of the most recognisable landmarks in town, Bishop Percy’s House on the Cartway. The property was built in 1580 by Richard Forster and has been a Grade 1 listed building since 18 July 1949. This is one of the few properties of its type to survive the great fire of Bridgnorth in April 1646.

The town is also home to the traditional Bridgnorth railway station which is part of the Severn Valley Railway. Take a journey on a heritage steam train stopping at various towns and villages and take in the delightful countryside views along its route southwards towards its final destination of Kidderminster. We definitely recommend a ride if you have never been before!

The ruins of Bridgnorth Castle, built in 1101, are present in the towns Castle Walk gardens. Not too much of the original building still remains due to damage caused during the English Civil War but the gardens do provide lovely views down across low town and the River Severn.

Other notable buildings in the town are the seventeenth century Bridgnorth Town Hall, a half-timbered building, situated in the centre of the high street where local markets are held on Fridays and Saturdays every week.
