Church Stile Farm Holiday Park
Located in the lovely Lake District village of Nether Wasdale in the western lakes, Church Stile Farm Holiday Park is a family owned business that makes a great place for your holiday. The park is surrounded by mesmerising scenery and the camping area is set in a woodland clearing that features views onto the Screes mountain range.
Church Stile Farm Holiday Park is in a great location for walking and climbing. You can also enjoy the pretty unspoiled Wastwater, which is the deepest lake in England, the stunning Scafell Pike and the majestic Great Gable Mountains.
It is easy to find the park and it is surrounded by some of the finest Cumbrian scenery. Walking, climbing and enjoying the unspoiled western lakes is enhanced by the area's abundance of wild life. Just over a mile away, Wastwater, the deepest lake in England, features magnificent views of Great Gable and the stunning Scafell range. The Scafell range also offers Scafell Pike which is the highest mountain in England.
Church Stile Farm Holiday Park's campsite features a large level camping ground that is complete with a play area for children, electric hook-ups, parking by your tent and a modern clean shower block with laundry and disabled facilities. You must pre-book pitches with electric hook-ups. Those who are looking for a more peaceful stay can enjoy a quiet area at the edge of the woodland.
The park is aimed towards families, couples and walkers. The site is very secure and the main gate is locked at night. The side footgate is always open and there is late parking available near the site entrance.
The nearby village of Nether Wasdale features 2 spectacular country inns, each which provides lengthy bar menus that include great vegetarian meals. There you will be greeted with a warm friendly atmosphere. You can choose from their fine selection from malts and real ales. Nether Wasdale also has a hotel that serves evening dinners.
You will find plenty of places to go walking and climbing in the local area. Just 6 miles away is Wasdale Head, which leads to Great Gable and Scafell Pike. Also nearby are Yewbarrow and Kirk Fell. There are also walks that can take you over to the Borrowdale and Langdale fells. British mountaineering was born at Wasdale Head which makes it a great base for starting out your day.
Just 5 miles away is Muncaster Castle. It features an owl centre, mole maze, tea rooms and lovely gardens. The gardens and the castle itself are said to be haunted. The entire castle is open to the public and they often have exhibitions and displays.
The famous narrow gauge steam railway La'al Ratty is nearby. The railway gives rides through the lovely Eskdale valley and onto Ravenglass. Ravenglass is an unspoiled seaside village where visitors can watch the small fishing boats and buy fresh fish. The village is also home to the ruins of an old Roman bath house.
