Westhill Farm Caravan Park
Westhill Farm Caravan Park is a static, touring caravan and tenting holiday park set amongst willow trees, landscaped grounds and farmland in a quiet, peaceful area of the Somerset countryside.
There are currently 46 privately owned static caravans, 10 seasonal touring pitches, and a commercial and touring site for all to enjoy.
The touring site caters for long or short stays and one night stop overs and children and pets are welcome.
Westhill Farm Caravan Park has been sensitively developed over many years to reflect its natural surroundings. The owners are conscious of the parks natural environment and strive to maintain its beauty.
All static holiday caravans have hard standings, are fully plumbed in and have mains water and electricity. Butane and Propane gas are sold on site.
To complement the statics, there is a fully serviced seasonal touring paddock offering ten 11-month pitches. All seasonal pitches overlook the River Brue. There is also two casual pitches available to book for stays of 1 or more nights. These also have views of the river.
Westhill Farm Caravan Park's facilities now include a small laundry complete with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. Recycling bins have been introduced to the park so that we can all help to look after our environment.
Dogs are most welcome on the site but must be kept on a lead at all times whilst on the park. There are plenty of opportunities for dog walking around the meadows at the end of the park and along the nearby footpaths and cattle droves.
The owners are resident in the farmhouse and will be pleased to help you with any enquiries or questions you may have.
The River Brue is well known for its excellent fishing. The river bank on the park has fishing stations where you can sit and enjoy the peace and quiet while the kingfishers swoop past.
Situated in East Huntspill, Westhill Farm is in a quiet, peaceful area of the Somerset countryside just 2 miles from the town of Highbridge and adjacent Burnham-on-Sea. There is easy access from Junction 22 of the M5. Just to the north the seven miles of Brean sands provide many activities for the whole family.
Cheddar Gorge is a short drive away in the Mendip Hills, where you can see the largest inland limestone cliffs in Britain and their caves, set in a 360 acre Nature Reserve. Cheddar village is the site of a Saxon Palace of the Kings of Wessex, which later became the "capital"of the Royal Hunting Forest of Mendip. There is still a fine Minster Church and a Market cross, Which was roofed over in medieval times to provide stalls for selling produce.
Nearby Axbridge is a picturesque market town, with a fine church and attractive historic houses laid out in "burghal strips" along the original street plan. The oldest and most impressive, a Tudor mechants house, is now the King Johns Hunting Lodge Museum.
To the west is the beautiful city of Wells with its twelfth century cathedral and ancient palace. Glastonbury of course hosts the world famous Glastonbury festival each year. And the nearby town of Street has Clarks Village for those of you who want some retail therapy.
Taunton's "Town" shopping experience is recommended for a leisurely wander or Bristol, with Cribbs Causeway, is 40 minutes up the motorway for making a day of it.
The surrounding area boasts many welcoming pubs and inns which provide an excellent variety of quailty food and drink. Somerset is famous for its apple orchards and cider drinking. The "pressings" can be blends or single apple verieties like Kingston Black, and range from fine-wine like ciders to potent farmhouse scrumpies. Several shops in the area stock cider from local farmers - Sheppy, Thatcher, Coombes, Perry and Richies.
