Burrowhayes Farm Caravan, Camping Site & Riding Stables

Burrowhayes Farm Caravan, Camping Site and Riding Stables is in the Horner Valley, surrounded by the rolling hills of the National Park of Exmoor with views over Dunkery Beacon, which is Exmoor’s highest point. You can enjoy the hills, woods and streams which are all part of the beautiful site.

The Farm has 19 caravans to rent next to Horner Water. There is mains water, drainage and shower and toilet. They all have gas heating, a cooker, microwave, fridge and toaster. Caravans are either one-bedroomed 4 berth or two- bedroomed 6 berth.

Two other areas are set up for touring caravans and some pitches have electric hook ups and TV link ups.

Tents can be pitched in the field which stretches to the boundary of Horner Woods and you can see the ponies feeding in the adjoining field.

Burrowhayes Farm has a heated shower and toilet block, disabled and baby changing facilities, a laundry room with coin operated washers and dryers and a hand washing sink. There is a payphone, freshwater tap and chemical waste disposal units.

The on-site shop stocks all your basics.

Dogs are welcome, both you and your pet can enjoy the scenic walks and explore the countryside.

There are numerous woodland walks where you can spot all kinds of wildlife, including Red Deer and the children can enjoy Pony rides and skimming stones in the stream.

If you want to see more of the area, visit Lorna Doone Country and the famous Badgworthy Valley, which is also known as Doone Valley. This is where the author R.D. Blackmore set his novel, Lorna Doone. You can see the ruins of Lorna Doone’s cottage, Badgworthy Water and Oare Church.

Visit Porlock and the famous hill and enjoy a typical cream tea in anyone of Exmoor’s pretty villages and visit Dunster a small historical town where you can visit the castle and enjoy the view of the Bristol Channel.

Burrowhayes Farm is open from mid-March to the end of October and no matter what season you choose to visit you can be assured that the natural beauty of the area will be outstanding.
