Northumberland, otherwise known as ‘The Secret Kingdom’, is probably one of the greatest undiscovered tourist attractions in Europe. From the low rolling Cheviot Hills in Northumberlands National Park to it’s beautiful ‘Heritage Coastline’ there is something to suit everybody and it is all within easy travelling of our park on uncluttered roads that bring back the golden age of motoring!

The area is dotted with historic castles such as the fortress at Bamburgh set atop sand dunes and miles of golden beaches. From there you can view the Farne Islands and The Longstone Lighthouse, home of the famous local heroine ‘Grace Darling’. The islands are also home to magnificent bird and seal colonies which can be visited via a boat trip from Seahouses’s Harbour.

Lindisfarne or ‘The Holy Island’ can be reached via a causeway from the mainland. The island is known as ‘The Seat of Christianity’ in Europe with a castle and ruined monastery as some of it’s attractions

Just a few miles away you will find the ancient market town of Alnwick whose centrepiece is it’s magnificent castle, better known today as the ‘Home of Harry Potter’. Here you will also find the recently opened Alnwick Gardens and Tree House, a must for any visitor to the area.

To the south of the county can be found Hadrians Wall , a World Heritage Site and relic from England’s Roman occupation.

Northumberland can provide it’s visitors with a huge range of activities including:

• Golf • Fishing • Hill-Walking • Canoeing • Sailing • Bird Watching • Cycling

In other words, something for everybody no matter what your tastes! All of this on our doorstep and we will be only to pleased to help you plan excusions during your stay with us
