Shell Island Campsite

Nestled on the coast of Cardigan Bay, Shell Island is an ideal place to spend a short or long holiday. The site is uniquely accessed by a tidal causeway.

Shell Island is famous for its shells, flowers, wild birds, fishing and wonderful panoramic views of Cardigan Bay and the stunning mountain range of Snowdonia.

The villages of Llanbedr and Dyffryn Ardudwy are nearby. The medieval castle town of Harlech lies to the north while the seaside town of Barmouth and its small fishing port lie to the south. The site is situated in the southern part of Snowdonia, making it an ideal position from which to explore Snowdonia.

Children can spend hours on the beach gathering shells, building sandcastles, exploring the rock pools, discovering the underwater world of the prawn, crab, sea anemone and more. There is crab fishing over the harbour wall as well as sea bass fishing.

Everyone can enjoy the stunning views, long walks and sense of freedom and relaxation that a camping holiday at Shell Island can achieve. The best way to enjoy the site is to bring your tent and camp for a few days on-site.
