PARK OPEN MARCH to NOVEMBER

Newlands Holidays is a wonderfully landscaped park that is set amid scenic countryside on the Dorset and Devon border. They are located in the famous World Heritage village of Charmouth which makes it perfect or exploring the Jurassic Coast.

In West Dorset you will find picturesque hidden villages and harbours that are set within Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can enjoy delicious home cooked food in harbourside restaurants that serve locally caught fresh seafood. You can also settle down by a cosy log fire with a glass of real ale in a traditional country pub.

No matter how you decide to spend your time at Newlands Holidays they have a wide range of modern centrally heated accommodation to suit your individual needs. From a double room to three bedroom lodges. You can also retreat to an apartment in a quiet corner of the park.

Newlands Holidays has immaculately clean facilities including heated toilets, showers and serviced hard standing pitches. Most activities that you would wish to enjoy on your holiday can be found in and around the site’s spacious main club house.

The park’s reception area has a comprehensive tourist information section. Their experienced and friendly staff are always on hand to ensure that you have a special holiday.

You can enjoy a drink the site’s air conditioned lounge and bar. There is nightly family entertainment during peak season. The conservatory has pool, table soccer and areas to relax. It has direct access to a large sunny patio area that affords magnificent views.

WOODEN GLAMPING PODS

Each wooden camping pod is 4.8m long x 2.44m wide. They are fully insulated with double glazed patio doors and a small wooden porch which includes 2 attached boot boxes that can be used as seating benches on the porch area.
A camping pod sleeps a maximum of 4 persons (including babies) with a double and 2 single beds. These pods are ideal for two adults and two children and save you the tie of putting up a tent.

OUR FAVOURITE AND UNIQUE THINGS ABOUT THIS PARK

∗ Located on the Jurassic coast and within walking distance of Charmouth’s fossil rich beach. The heritage centre down on the beach is not to be missed and gives you lots of tips to find the famous fossils.

∗ Adjoining the park is Stonebarrow Lane, when you reach the top you will find acres of National Trust land, many fascinating coastal walks and even a geocache if your eyes are sharp enough.

∗ Just down the road in Axminster there are an array of fantastic eateries, including Hugh Fernley-Whittingstall’s famous River Cottage Canteen.

∗ The historic town of Lyme Regis is laced with quirky shops and has a real old fashioned seaside town feel, aquarium and popular Hix’s Restaurant. You can see why Jane Austin loved it so much.

∗ Beer is a beautiful old sleepy fishing village, with some fascinating old quarry caves, beautiful gardens of pecorama and even wooden boat hire from the beach.

∗ The Donkey Sanctuary is a free attraction not to be missed and is located along the coast road towards Sidmouth.

∗ The typical thatched village of Abbotsbury plays host to the amazing Subtropical Gardens, Swannery and Tithe Barn children’s farm, which are all well worth a visit especially if you make the swannery for 12 or 4pm when they feed the hundreds of swans which fly in for the feeding frenzy.

∗  If you are after more of an active holiday you can try one of the many Marshwood trails by foot or electric bike. Alternatively continue along the coast road to Weymouth & Portland home to the Olympic sailing events in 2012, where you can book a rock climbing, kite surfing or sailing lesson and follow in Ben Ainsleys footsteps.
