Rivendale Caravan & Leisure Park

Rivendale Caravan & Leisure Park is located at over 1,000 feet above sea level at the junction of Eaton, Alsop and Biggin Dales.

**OPEN FROM FEBRUARY TO DECEMBER**

The site is ideal for mountain biking, rambling and walking from trails and cycle ways that lead directly from the site. Just 100 metres from the site entrance is access to the Tissington Trail.

There is the “Trails Triangle” that is formed with the High Peak Trail and cycle way around Carsignton Reservoir. From the site footpaths lead into the dramatic limestone scenery of the upper reaches of Dover Dale which is about 1½ miles away.

You can enjoy more than just outdoor activities in the Peak District though. There are cultural and historic sites as diverse as Chatsworth, Alton Towers, Buxton Opera House, National Tram Museum, Richard Arkwright’s Mills within the Derwent Valley World Heritage site, Gulliver’s Kingdom, a variety of caves and caverns, stately homes and castles and more. There are also local arts festivals, well dressings, flower shows, game fairs and other events at Chatsworth. Guests will always find something to do no matter what the weather.

CARAVANS, MOTORHOMES, RV’S & TRAILER TENTS
You can choose from a variety of pitch surfaces for your caravan and motor home. They are located within a sheltered natural sun trap. There are all hard standing and hard standing with grass pitches available. Most have hedges at either side to provide greater privacy for guests and shelter for wildlife.

The pitches for caravans and motor homes are located in the main pitching area on individual loop roads that are handy for the under-floor heated shower building, laundrette and children’s play area. They all have 16 amp electrical hook-ups. Some also have a fresh water supply and might also have a waste water disposal drain.

CAMPING
Within the main pitching area there are grass pitches that are good for campers which are good early in season or in autumn due to their sheltered location. They have 16 amp power supplies and are close to the underfloor-heated main amenity building.

The pitches are approximately 9m X 13m. This size accommodates most tents. If you have a particularly large tent you should let them know when you are booking so that one of the larger pitches is allocated for you.

You are permitted to have barbeques that are enclosed and prevent hot ash from falling onto the ground. Due to the close proximity of neighbouring tents they do not allow fire pits in the main pitching area.

If you prefer a more traditional camping experience without power then you can reserve one of the “wild camping” pitches or the wild flower meadows. You can have a campfire with a metal fire pit in these locations. You can pick your spot to camp in the wild flower meadows and have toilets and showers next to you in the new unisex timber shower building.

CAMPING PODS AND YURTS
Rivendale offers camping pods that provide a warm and hassle free camping experience. They are ideal for guests touring on bikes, arriving on foot or who simply hate the thought of wrestling with a wet muddy tent. They are equipped with electric heaters, light and have been successfully used by clients in temperatures as low as -18 degrees last year. A family pod can accommodate up to 5 adults. Classic pods can fit 2 adults and 2 children.

They also offer canvas and timber Yurts. Some are equipped with wood burning stoves. They can accommodate either 2 adults and 1 or 2 small children or up to 6 adults.

Yurts and Pods move around the site with the seasons. They are found around the environmental pond in winter and on the hillside overlooking Eaton Dale in the summer.

LODGES, ROOM WITH SUITES & HOLIDAY HOMES
For those who do not want to camp you can still enjoy Rivendale in either a Pine Lodge or Holiday Caravan. You can even enjoy a superb bedroom suite at nearby Peak District Spa
